More Dental Drama

So we went to the special dentist today and Daniel is going to need major dental work.  He is going to need to have almost all of his teeth worked on and is going to be sedated for it.  I am so nervous for this, it is something I haven’t been through and it makes me nervous for him to go through it.  I am trying to be strong so he will not think that it’s scary but for me it’s so nerve-racking.

Have you been through this or do you know anyone who has?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Im sure it’s nerve wracking but it will be okay.

  2. Thanks Kimberly…it will all be over soon, just have to get the surgery done and then can be moved on…now to never let another kid have any chocolate milk in a sippy cup. Did everything right, no going to bed with a bottle, brush 2 times a day and floss…said that this is caused from the sippee’s…good to know now!

Ka’Meha’s front tooth was fused to the next one over. In his preliminary appointment they cleaned out the decay between the 2 teeth then sealing it with a porcelain “cement” without any anesthesia. Time went on and about 4 months later his face was swollen on his full left side. We could barely see his eye…well it turns out the tooth was absessed and needed to be removed immediately but this time with anesthesia at 2 1/2 yrs old. There was a gap in the fused tooth way up in the gum. Xrays showed that the permanent teeth(yes they’re already there) were fine. I was nervous for the procedure but it turned out pretty comical! LOL Just like the YouTube videos. Kids are resiliant so Daniel will be fine..nothing that a sugar free popsicle can’t fix. Good Luck.

My oldest had to have caps on 4 of her teeth when she was 3. They ended up doing one tooth at a time so she had to go back 4 different times for work. She did okay for all but 1 of the visits. Good luck to both of you!
