Stuff Kids Say

I am blessed to have a little boy who says exactly what is on his mind, and isn’t afraid to repeat the things he hears.  My husband and I are pretty careful about what we say and have explained to him that there are things that adults can say but kids can’t…but recently he was at day care and one of the kids there said something Daniel isn’t allowed to say and he repeated it.  While we corrected that, there have been some really funny things he has come home to say.  One that really stands out to me is when he told me “oh my gosh mom, that is ridiculous”  He didn’t say ridiculous very well, but it was just hilarious to hear him say things like that, and it’s also amazing that he can figure out how they fit into the world and when they are appropriate.

Kids are sponges they really do pick up on everything that comes up around them, and it can be a real challenge to make sure that they pick up on the right things.

What are some things your kids have said that you couldn’t help but laugh at?

Kids do say hilarious things. I love when they use adult like words and they figure out how to fit it in.

Haha that’s funny… One of Tristans favorite quotes as well.

  3. Jen says:

We keep a list of “Cole-isms”. One of the worst, but funniest was when he was reprimanded for saying “Oh sh*#” for the second time in an hour and then replies, “Oh I’m sorry, I meant HOLY sh*#”!! Gotta love ’em!

  4. Jen, that is great! I remember that happening!

  5. Don’t you love how they just come home and say stuff when you least expect it! It’s hard when it’s something they shouldn’t say and you want to laugh…Rory is the worst, just because sound isn’t coming out doesn’t mean that he can’t tell you are laughing with those shrugging shoulders… 🙂

  6. Exactly, and it’s usually something that shocks me!
